First of all, I'd like to start by saying I still consider you one of my best friends. You held down my fort for so many years and just because we both grew up, that hasn't changed for me.

I can still remember all of our inside jokes and shenanigans like it was yesterday. No, we aren't together all the time anymore but when we are, it's like nothing has changed. I can recall sitting in a hotel room, laughing our heads off or you getting your license before me and it being the coolest thing ever. I can remember us taking the ugliest of selfies on your cool, new phone and adding so many filters until we weren't recognizable.

We get together now and it's like not a day has passed. We can go for ice cream or just a drive and nothing has changed. We gossip about everything, we belt out the oldest of song lyrics and most importantly, we can just be ourselves. That is definitely one of the most important aspects of any good friendship.

To this day, when something tragic comes up in our lives, I know both of us have our phones, in hand, ready to dial to see if there is any way we could help. To this day, if something important comes up, I know we are both ready to devour information. To this day, if there is good news waiting to be shared, we are ready to celebrate, even if it's just a congrats text. To this day, if something fun comes up and we are both free, we'll go together.

My parents still ask about you and how you're doing. They still are friends with your parents. You were one of the friends that my parents knew as a forever friend. You know how they say parents can read your friends before you can? They knew right away that you were one of the good ones.

We did grow apart. Different interests, different schools, different friends, different paths, but know that I'm happier than ever for you. You're doing great and that's all I ever wanted for any friend of mine, especially you. You've got good grades, good friends, a good school, and you're living life to the fullest. I can't wait to sit back and watch and see where life takes you.

You were the first one to make me see what real friendship is all about. We laughed together. We cried together. We got in trouble together. We shared secrets together. We did homework together. We grew together. That. That is what friendship is all about and nothing in this world could make me forget a friendship and bond as strong as ours. No matter how many friends or relationships or life obstacles that are put in front of me, you'll always be one of my best friends.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
