An Open Letter To My Step Parents And Siblings

An Open Letter to my Step Parents & Step Siblings

Dear Step mom & dad,

Thank you for being the best you can be for my parents. Yes, it was tough at first because I thought it was different from other families, but I eventually moved on from that struggle because you guys will always be family to me through thick and thin. You not only try hard to make this family great, but you love to make us all laugh, which is a great feature to have.

Some people don’t understand what it’s like to have both of their parent’s remarried or even just divorced in general. If parent’s divorce while you were still a young child, you might be confused about why this happened or why my family is different from others? It’s hard adjusting to that at first, but then both parents remarry and are both happy. You think to yourself that all I want is for them to be happy and if they are both happy, then I am happy.

Once both parents remarry to someone else, things become a little different and sometimes even difficult, but overall, you are happy with your step parents because they treat your mother and father the way you hoped that they would treat them. They’re sort of like a best friend to you.

To my Step siblings,

Thank you for being you and always having my back like a true sibling and best friend would. Being your step sibling has been a blessing since day one when our parents married. We’ve had so many laughs and good times and I couldn’t be more thankful. Family is everything and I would do anything to just be with them. We do have our tough times however, just like any other sibling would. Just don’t forget that no matter where we are, I always have your back, like you always do for me. Thank you for all you do for me.

Sincerely,

Your step daughter/sister

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
