Dear President Donald J. Trump,
There are countless things you have done that have made me question your motives as the President of the United States. And trust me, it isn't just me.
First things first: you won because of a higher number of electoral votes, not the popular vote. Hillary Clinton had almost three million more votes than you nationwide.
There have been many protests across both our country and the world, and people in England, Australia, Greece, Russia, Germany, just to name a few, can see the issues we are facing with you as president. This does not even include the nearly three million people out on the streets protesting across the U.S., one of the biggest protests in history. And what were you doing while these protests were going on? Sitting in your new house hiding from the 400,000 people protesting you outside your window.
Why does it seem like your main concern is the amount of people who showed up at your inauguration? There are plenty of other more important issues you should be worrying about, such as following through on your "master plan" to defeat the terrorist group ISIS, which has threatened many American lives.
What about the thousands of people protesting in airports across the U.S. after you made the executive decision to bar citizens of seven, mostly Muslim countries? What happened to stopping racism in our country? It seems to me you are just making it worse.
To make everything worse, you don't even know how to act "professional." Your tweets absolutely terrify me. It's as if a 12-year-old is openly expressing their issues of the world, to the world.
You are so busy tweeting about stupid things, and not so busy acting to resolve important issues.
If you didn't realize, the media is a huge part of your presidency. Yet you think "shooing" them away and calling them "fake news" outlets is the best option? As a citizen in this country, I want to feel safe. And with your ideals, I couldn't feel farther from that.
The questions I have, along with many other people in the U.S., include: Why did you become president? When are you going to do all the things you have promised Americans? How will you improve relations with other countries? What are you going to do to improve this country and help the citizens in it?
Congratulations President Donald J. Trump, your inauguration was huge (and when I say huge, I mean talked about a lot, not in size).
Sincerely,
Angela Fortuna
