An Open Letter To The Person Who Marries My Best Friend

Dear BFF's boo,

First, I am so happy that you two have found each other. It fills my heart to see that someone else sees the joy and wonder that makes my best friend special. I hope that your future is filled with love and that neither of you ever feel lonely. As you can tell, my best friend means a lot to me. So I hope that you cherish and love them as much as I do. But this is about the relationship between you and I. We both already agree that our mutual acquaintance is the best thing since sliced bread.

In an age where dating is basically part of the past, marriage is mostly looked at as a death sentence. I want to take this opportunity to look at this as a positive situation. I am not losing best friend to a marriage, I am extending my love and support to you as well. You are an extension of them once you are married, so you're basically a best friend 2.0, right?

Congratulations, you are in love with seriously the best person to ever grace this earth. You have very good taste. Welcome to the family. I can not wait to create even richer memories filled with love and laughter with you as well.

I am excited to see you two grow and accomplish goals together. The new adventures ahead of you are sure to be wild. I hope you are the calm to the storm as I once was. OUR Best friend is the wild one, so I hope you keep them grounded when needed. With that being said, please, let them soar as well. It may seem crazy in the moment, but that's when I learned the most from them. That's when we made the best memories; I am overjoyed that you now to get to experience their glimmer.

You are now married to a very strong personality. Even when they are being a strong force on the outside, I swear, they have a calm ocean center. On the inside they are soft and compassionate. My advice to you is to look past the wall that they may put up. You will see them cry at sad movies and dreams they once had. Love them and hold them because our BFF is two different people at 2 pm and 2 am. Just a side note, a glass of wine doesn't hurt at either time.

You will see when our best friend loves, they love hard. Just like everything else they do, they will do it with full force. They will stand by you until the end of time and I really hope that you can share that with them as well. Because, you know as well as I do, that's what they deserve.

Sincerely,

Your new best friend.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
