You know who you are. Everyone is always telling you how emotional you are about everything. Saying things like, “You are way too emotional, why can’t you just get over what they said to you,” or “Really. You are sad again? Wow..what a shock.” But, what they don’t understand is that is just you, just like some people have tempers or have a personality that tends to lead them to be alone most of the time. You, you are just an emotional girl. And there is nothing wrong with that. Actually, you better rock it, because you are one of a kind. There is no one else like you out there, so however emotional you are don’t be afraid to be proud of the way you are.

You are perfect the way you are, no matter what anyone says.

Many people are easy to jump to conclusions and think that you being an emotional person is a bad or negative thing. However, this is not the case. You are perfectly and beautifully made in every way, including how emotional people may think you are. And guess what? That is okay. Feel what you feel and don’t worry what other people have to say about it.

Emotions help you connect with others.

You feeling strong emotions and feeling them often really helps you relate to others and how they are feeling. Being in tune with your emotions is a gift that not everyone is blessed with. But, lucky enough you are! There are so many benefits to having this beautiful gift. One of the best ones is being able to hear others and really turn their words into feelings and relate to those feelings on a personal level. We are the ones full of great advice...just saying. Personal experience gives the best advice.

It’s okay to cry...often.

Sometimes the best thing to do is cry and let everything out. Sometimes it is the only escape from all the emotions flooding in all at once. Crying does not make you weak, not even close. It makes you strong to release your emotions, pick yourself up, and move on with life. Being weak would be letting your emotions get the best of you. You’ll always pick your head up and smile again. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it, but just believe. You will always land on your feet.

If someone really loves you, you being an emotional person won’t bother them. They will see the beauty in it and in you.

You are who you are and there is never any reason why you should change. Being an emotionally in-tune person is part of you and whoever is truly in love with you, will be in love with all the wonderful things that come out of you being emotional. They will also be there and support you when your emotions get the best of you. Not ever will they judge you based on how emotional you are or their feelings change about you based on that. The person that loves you and your emotions is the one.

It’s hard sometimes to have all these emotions…

No denying being an emotional girl can be sour and sweet other times. When you have feelings about many things, it can be tough to sort them out and really figure out why you felt that way. Sometimes it is a struggle honestly. But, you always have to remember the bad comes with the good and you will get through the little rough patches on the road to drive on smooth path again.

Others do not get to experience life the way you do.

Even though sometimes being emotional can be overwhelming, the benefits definitely outweigh the negatives. You feel everything so deeply, and whatever you do has a purpose to it because you think about the way it will affect others and yourself. And each new experience for you brings new emotions, that makes easy for you to know how the experience is affecting you. Like when you meet a person, the decision takes minutes to make whether you are a fan or not. And things or people that excite you bring the deepest, truest emotions to life. I don’t know about you, but these things don’t seem too bad at all to me. We are the fortunate ones to feel the utmost real emotions on each level, that is magnificent and never anything to be ashamed of.

Everyone is different and have different strengths and weaknesses. Your strength is your emotions and don’t let anyone ever tell you it is a weakness.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
