"I can't do everything, but I can do something."
Imagine this: You walk in. The smell is overpowering, almost unbearable. You walk through a door to hear copious amounts of barks and cries, screaming for help. Screaming for a savior. Walking up and down between the cages, looking side to side and seeing the helpless eyes peering back, asking for a second chance. We all deserve second chances. How about animals? It's not their fault they were bred in hopes of making some money. They deserve a good life, too.
Each year, 2.7 million dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States, simply because not enough people are willing to adopt.
2.7 million innocent animals, unable to fight for themselves. If more people adopted pets instead of buying them, the number would be drastically smaller. Not only is it cheaper to adopt than to buy, you get a loving animal who is so grateful to be freed from their own personal purgatory. More and more shelters are becoming overcrowded with cats and dogs, and adopting even just one animal opens up space for another animal in need of help.
"The time is always right to do what is right."
Take it from a person that has always adopted, it's great. The fear of getting a "dangerous" dog is false. Adopted dogs are just as gentle and lovable as puppy mill dogs. I currently have 3 dogs, all of which are adopted, and they are the happiest, most playful dogs I have ever come in contact with. They have been nothing short of a blessing to my family. 3 may seem like a lot to handle, but when you save 3 lives, they adore you. Constant kissing and cuddling is to be expected.
"Be the voice for the voiceless."
While adopting cannot change the world right away, it can change an animal's world. There is no such thing as a bad pet, just a bad owner. Whether you want old or young, big or small, dog or cat, you can find the perfect dog for you and your family. Give a second chance.
"How would you feel if 2.7 million people were euthanized each year just because they were homeless?"
