There's only a couple of days left until I get to claim you as my little!

Dear Little,

You are mere days away from finding out who I am and I am so excited. I was not originally planning on taking a little but when I was asked if I would take you, I couldn't refuse. I already have one little but I know that you will love her as much as I do and that you will become great friends.

I know that this week is overwhelming. All you will want to do all week is go to the house to get your presents, but school always comes first. If you have a lot going on, go to the house a little late to get your presents, they will still be there waiting for you. I hope you love all of your presents, I spent hours crafting just for you.

I will do my very best to be a good big to you. I know that I'm not perfect, but I will try my hardest. I will be there at 2am if you need me, I will be there to eat ice cream with you if you bomb a quiz and I will be there to help you study for your new member test in two weeks. I will be at your initiation (even though it is crazy early) and I will be there ready to hug you and congratulate you on becoming an active member.

I promise that I will watch stupid movies with you on weekends when we're both bored and I promise to drag you along to go do fun things when you need to take a break from studying. I will introduce you to new people and let you steal shirts out of my closet. I will randomly buy you stuff because it goes on sale and happens to be your size and I will bring you donuts or coffee just because.

I will always be around when you don't know what to do and I will always be willing to listen to your problems. In getting a big you are getting a confidant, a personal therapist and an objective ear all at once. I will tell you when you are reading too much into a situation and I will tell you when you're right. I will always be on your side and I will always help you see sense.

I moved away from home to go to college and I was able to find a family within Alpha Gam and I hope that you find nothing short of family within our chapter. I will always be a text or a phone call away and I will take you anywhere you need to go.

I can't wait to see the woman you become in our chapter and to watch you take your own little (or littles) sooner than you'd expect. I can't wait to watch you fall in love with you little as I have fallen in love with you and to watch you say "That's her. She is my little." weeks before the big little pairings begin.

I can't wait to be there for you and to learn from you as you learn from me. We all have lessons to teach and lessons to learn and a big and little are the best people to learn from each other.

I am so ready to help guide you through the remainder of your first year at Western and to help you through your first year as a sorority woman. You have so much to offer our chapter and you will help the chapter come farther than ever expected.

You will always have me around to help or just hang out, and I can't wait for reveal on Friday to finally get to call you my little and to finally get to show you how much you mean to me already. I love you so much already, little.

Now I just need you to know I'm your big.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Obsessive Thoughts Keep My Brain Stuck On A Loop And Me Stuck On My Couch

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.
