Dear Mr. The Frog,

It's been quite an interesting couple of years for you, my friend. I'm sure that you never thought that your career would take you down this kind of path, but you have to be ready for anything, I guess. A lot of us grew up watching "The Muppets" and so it's been nice to have you with us through the last couple of rough years.

See, that's my theory about the increase in using you for memes. It's not just because you have very relatable reactions, but also because you bring us comfort. We miss the simpler times of our youth, but knowing you can relate to our problems now as adults is even more comforting. I wanted to take some time to thank you for your memes and reflect back on how we got to this point together.

Alright, let's start with the couch meme. I believe that this started with your interview on Jimmy Fallon, but from there it's really taken off. It's not quite as popular as some of your other memes, but it's a household name amongst us meme professionals. The couch meme is used to express surprise at a situation. I'm not entirely sure how a picture of you during an interview became such a widely used meme, but here are some prime examples of it anyway.

Another meme that isn't quite as popular, but still heavily used is your driving meme. I have a lot of questions about this one because, as a three-foot tall puppet, you probably shouldn't be driving a car in the first place. I honestly have no clue as to the origin of this picture, but nothing would really surprise me at this point.

Your face in this meme perfectly captures all of my passive aggressive feelings while driving, so it's a very relatable one. I didn't realize that you drove, but I appreciate that you can sympathize with all of my emotions related to driving.

Now we need to talk about the meme of all memes. How did you do it? I'm convinced that you have a really great publicity team who knew it was time for you to revive yourself and so they created this meme. This meme is iconic. So iconic that people will just use emojis to reference it.

The "tea lizard" meme. My generation worships this meme because it is the perfectly petty punctuation to all of our statements. The picture of you casually drinking some Lipton tea (real subtle product placement there too) is everywhere on the internet. This meme is the shadiest of all the memes. You can use it to call people out on their life choices, make political statements, or really anything you want to do with it. The classic photo of you sipping on tea while throwing some side eye isn't going away anytime soon.

Now 2016 has been a crazy year for all of us, but especially November. In light of all the chaos, I'm glad to see that you have been able to have success and to bring us some joy here on the internet. Your "me to me" meme captures the inner voice that we all have and it's been a way to unite us after this polarizing election season.

It's reassuring to see that there are endless opportunities even for a green frog made of felt. I'm interested to see what your next move is and if you're going to stay in the meme field or going to take a more serious turn. Either way, thanks for the laughs when we've needed them the most.

Sincerely,

A friend

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
