Dear girls of the world,

You are so loved by so many people. I know at times it can be hard to feel wanted or even noticed in the world we live in. However, the expectations that society has set for girls to look like are unrealistic, and those aren't the looks you should try to achieve. Be happy in your body, and if you aren't happy about the way you look, change the way you see yourself. Is it because you compare yourself to girls you see on T.V or even women on Instagram? Is it because your friends are all skinnier than you or have better clothes? If you've ever compared yourself to the people around you, you will always find things about yourself you don't like and dwell on your flaws. Stop doing it. Flaws aren't things that take away from you, they add to who you are. You will never be someone else, and that's a good thing.

There may be other girls who look up to you and admire the way you look, so never be harsh on yourself because you don't always see your own admirers. Who cares if someone's amazing at makeup and can afford fancy clothes or can eat whatever they want and stay skinny? You are your own person and shouldn't try to change that. If you're feeling down about the way you look, please stop comparing yourself. Please tune out the rest of the world's thoughts and opinions on how girls should look today. Take a break from the internet, stop worrying about your diet and start living more. You're not on this world just to look pretty and get attention. You're here to be happy, to live your life as positively as possible. By belittling yourself and pointing out your flaws, you are taking away all the happiness you could have. You're here to be exactly the way you are and you never have to change.

Do what you want, dress how you want, eat what you want, and stop being hard on yourself. If everyone looked the same, there would be no diversity in this world. Take pride in your body because it's incredible just how unique you are, and that's never something to be ashamed of.

Being beautiful doesn't just come from looks on the outside. If you judge someone on the way they look, you will never know what lies beneath the surface. Your beauty is radiated to the world when it comes from within you. That beauty starts from loving yourself and embracing your body just the way it is. Your body is so good to you, be good and kind to it in return. Everyone will see your beauty, and it won't just be because of how you look, it will be because of who you are inside.

Girls, please never change. Please stop comparing yourself to the photoshopped models you see and the airbrushed actresses on T.V. You won't look like them because you're already yourself and it's amazing to be in a body that is designed for you and nobody else. Looking the way you do is never something to be ashamed of. You were made perfectly, flaws and all, you were made to be yourself and nothing else. You should love yourself everyday because you are nothing less than perfect.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
