An Open Letter To The Girl Who Broke My Best Friend's Heart

The fact that I am sitting here writing this letter is enough in itself to tell you the wrong that you've done.

Remember me? Yeah, I'm sure you do. The girl that you blocked from your social media. The girl who was always a "threat" no matter how many times he assured you we were just best friends. You never trusted him, even when he did everything in his power to keep you happy.

You strung him along for what seemed to be, to me, his best friend at least, a lifetime. The relationship started out fine. He was finally happy with someone and it was such an amazing thing to see. Then came the lying, the cheating, the drugs. That's just a few to name. Happiness is what he deserves, and he thought he had it, until you showed him that your intentions were never good, and you only put yourself first.

I saw the outcome of this relationship from a mile away. How did I know this, you ask? Because I know girls like you. I know how they work, and I know where their intentions lie. But, he was "happy," so I refrained from expressing my true concerns, but told him to tread lightly.

Time came and went, and the truth behind it all slowly and surely came out. You pulled the same stunts over and over, but the love he had for you allowed you to keep coming back. Just to do it all again.

Now this time, I've had enough, and so has he. Girls like you will come and go, and at the end of the day I will be the one that's there for him to pick up the pieces. Until one day, some girl will genuinely love him more than she loves anything else in the world. She will put him first in any and every situation, and even when her true self comes out, she will still be the same girl who loves him unconditionally.

I hope that one day you, too, find someone who will love you the way you deserved to be loved. But, remember that you can't truly love someone until you love yourself. Think about this long and hard before you try again with someone new.

A, I love you. I'm so thankful to have you as my best friend, and I hope one day you will find the girl of your dreams. Until then, I'll be here in any way. When you need a "bro," when you need a girl's advice, and when you just wan't a friend to talk to. You deserve the world, and never settle for less.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
