Closing out my sophomore year, it’s finally hit me that I’m halfway to obtaining my degree from one of the greatest universities ever. The past two years have flown by like the blink of an eye. I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime, I have watched the Georgia Southern football team win their first bowl game, and I joined a sorority of sisters who took me under their wings. There are so many things that I’ve done that I never would have imagined doing when I was in high school. In all, the one thing that has inspired me the most this semester is our graduating seniors here at Georgia Southern. Not only have y’all left a large impact on my time here at GSU, but you’ve inspired me to keep on working hard towards my future.

I want to start off by saying thank you to the seniors who have come into my life and inspired me to be the person I am right now. Some of these seniors are the people who took me in when I needed someone. They showed love and kindness towards me and made me feel right at home. These seniors have taught me to love my time in college and to always be myself. I cannot express how every single one of you have positively impacted my life here at Georgia Southern.

While you may be moving on into your adult lives, I ask you to not forget me and all the other underclassmen you’re going to be leaving behind. We cannot wait to see you grow into the wonderful people you’re going to be. Always remember we are here for you when you need a shoulder to cry on, a friend to gossip with, or just someone with whom you want to catch up with. Whatever it is you may need, I can assure you, we’ll be here. Thank you for the great memories, and I cannot wait to see ya’ll start this new journey in life.

Congratulations Class of 2017. You made it.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
