Dear Future Brother-In-Law,
I don't know you yet, but I can't wait to meet you! I've always wanted a big brother, and I'm really excited to finally have one. However, there are probably some things you should know as you make the commitment to join my family.
My sister is really special. She's weird and goofy, and sometimes she can be a pain in the you know what. But, as long as you can make her happy and laugh, then you're set. Be prepared for the late-night Danielle. She's always the goofiest. That's when she'll try to cuddle and dance with you (once she tried wall twerking in our hotel room). My best advice for you is to not be lame and shut it down but to go with it. You'll probably think she is a weirdo in the beginning, but you will end up laughing hysterically. Most of the times that we were being goofy led to a wrestling match, in which I would always win. That's another tip, let her win sometimes. Also, never turn down a breakout dance session. Those are her favorites. One of my distinct childhood memories was one time when she was babysitting me, and she started dancing around the living room to Aaron Carter with me. We laughed forever.
She is smart, like really smart. She's also super driven. Once she gets an idea, you can't stop her until she reaches her goal. From coordinating my mom's 50th surprise party or starting our own start-up craft company, she doesn't quit or give up. She completed grad school all on her own and has gone on to be super successful in her job. I admire her because I feel like she was so much more successful than me at my age.
Although my sister and I are nine years apart, we are a lot closer than you would think. I've seen her heartbroken before, and I'm not afraid to break you if you break her heart. She was my first best friend in this world. I can't wait for you to start a family together, so I can be the cool aunt. Although Danielle says she doesn't want kids, I need you to convince her to because I want to be the cool aunt (and secretly, I know she wants to). I can't wait to meet you, and I promise I'll be the one to talk to you at awkward family events. I'll see you soon...hopefully really soon!
Sincerely,
Your Sister-In-Law
