Being a freshman is scary, don't tell me you don't remember! Walking around campus for the first time and seeing all the buildings. You had no idea what was inside each building, but you were ready to conquer the world! Sadly, the hardest thing about being a freshman is dealing with the older students. Being a freshman means you are looked down upon. You're now a baby. So here is an open letter from us...
If you hear us complaining about being stressed, don't laugh or mock us. Tell us it's going to be okay and we will get the hang of it. It may never be any less stressful, but we will get through it! Support us, you once this young and all you wanted was some help.
If you see us lost, help us. MSSU is a smaller campus, but I came from a school that only had 125 students 9th-12th. This campus is huge! I don't know where all the buildings are, and I don't know what is inside of them.
When a freshman asks you for help, HELP THEM! Don't laugh and walk away! You guys should be our mentors, not bullies. The way you treat us is how we will treat the incoming freshmen.
Yes, everyone dreads freshmen. Some of us are a little too big for our britches, but some of us are scared and need help. Be the person you needed when you were a freshman.
