An Open Letter To The Friends Who Walked Into My Life

Thank you. Thank you for being the friends that I was able to meet and become so close with, my only wish is that I got to know you earlier.

There was a time in my life when I didn’t know who my real friends were. Then I met all of you. You all changed the meaning of friendship for me and I could not thank you guys enough. When my old friends walked out of my life, I never knew I would be blessed with people as great as all of you to come in and be a part of some of the greatest memories of my life. From eating sushi at local restaurants to going to the beach and spending all of our money in the arcade and boardwalk, the memories are endless. Each one of you has made me laugh until I cry and I would not have it any other way, so here is my thank you:

Thank you,

For being there when I need a hug.

Even when I was on my bed crying about some sort of drama, all of you sat by me to listen and give me hugs to make me feel better.

For making me laugh until I cry.

The best times were when something happened or someone said something hilarious and we all ended up on the floor laughing our heads off, trying to catch a breath.

For accomplishing great things beside me.

Even when something seemed like a huge challenge we stuck by each other until we did it.

For staying up until 3am just talking.

The best nights were when we would stay up late bonding over long conversations that we just never wanted to end.

For taking pictures over and over.

You know what I'm talking about, taking candid photos or retaking the same picture over and over again for your Instagram post.

For endless support.

Nothing is better when your friends have your back. Thank you for always supporting and encouraging me in everything I do.

For finishing the food with me that we over ordered.

Whether we order way too much sushi, popcorn or even pizza, everyone pushes through and finishes the food together.

For helping me pick out an outfit.

Whether we are on a trip, going out for the night or just picking out something for an upcoming event, you all were always there to offer advice in order to help me achieve the best look possible.

For being there for me.

Most of all, thank you all so much for being there for me. Through all of the good or bad times I have had, I know I can always trust all of you to be there for me.

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.
