Dear Best Friend,
You, my darling, are fabulous. I know we will only be one skype call away but because I will not physically be able to punch someone for you, this letter will have to do when you’re upset. I did not expect the girl with the bleach blonde hair and fake spray tan that sat across from me at lunch to be my soulmate but four years later…and here we are (Edit: no more spray tan but a whole lot prettier). Not the kind of soulmate you want to create a family with (unless it’s with a bunch of puppies) but the kind of person that you instantly click with. Not only do you accept my quirks, you embrace each and every single one of them.
From the first time we spoke, I knew you were going to be someone special. Ohio was just too small of a state to contain all the sparkle in your personality and all your passion for exploration. I am so proud of everything you have accomplished so far in your life and no amount of words can describe the gratitude I have towards you for allowing me to be a part of your daily life. Thinking back to the last four years, you have helped contribute to 90 percent of my fondest and sometimes disastrous moments. From wandering for three hours at the Dollar Tree to blacking out at Steve Aoki, these memories will always be ones I keep safe. I would not have been able to go to college without you by my side. Thank you for deciding to move 2.5 hours away from home with me and embarking on the adventure called college. It has been an honor watching you grow into a beautiful adult and figuring out that consuming pizza 24/7 is totally acceptable.
Thank you sticking by my side no matter how many times I’ve pushed you away. I know that there were times in our friendship where I put boys ahead of you and have made you upset because I was making the same mistakes that you’ve made. Instead of yelling at me, I really appreciated your patience and helping hand wiping away my tears. Watching you take steps to advance your career not only makes me a tad bit jealous (make sure to snapchat me ASAP if a celebrity comes in for a photoshoot!) but it motivates me to work as hard as you. Thank you for being so driven. You always strive for the best and that allows me to follow in your suit. From the last few talks we’ve had, I can tell you’re scared but coming from someone who knows you better than yourself, I can guarantee you are going to have a blast. Here’s to more yoga classes at the recreation center, falling down the stairs in heels, and taking shots of vodka while completing 500 piece puzzles, I love you and I already can’t wait until you’re home!
