Dear friends that I made during my freshmen year at college,

As my senior year of high school was coming to an end, I was looking forward to starting my new adventure at St. Bonaventure University and I couldn’t wait to see what the future had in store for me.

I always loved high school and I loved my group of friends even more. This was the one thing that I dreaded, leaving my friends behind. Saying goodbye to my high school friends was probably one of the hardest things with my transition to college, even though I knew I would see them again in just a few months.

I never believed my mom or dad, and other family members, when they told me that college would be the place where I would meet my absolute best friends and they would be the friends you have forever. Wow, was I wrong.

So here you have it. A letter to the people at college thus far who mean so much to me.

Thank you. Thank you for showing me that my parents were right (even though I hate to admit that) and that you really do make the best of friends at college. Thank you for making my freshmen year the absolute best and making memories with me that I will cherish forever. It’s hard to believe that freshmen year is coming to an end and that we’ve only known each other for nine months, but it feels like nine years.

Within the first week of school, I knew that I had found my people. The inside jokes, outings, and late night conversations at 2 A.M. started immediately.

The days and nights we have spent together this year have been some of the best memories of my life. Amazing memories were made between the late night Dominoes orders, Hickey ice cream runs, waiting in the endless line at the OP on the weekends and the basketball games at the RC.

To my roommate, thank you for being you. Thank you for all the laughs, tears and memories that were made in our small, perfect dorm room. Thank you for always being there, for sharing your clothes, for having the same coffee obsession that I do, for making stupid decisions together, for staying up late having conversations at 2 A.M. laying down in our beds and everything in between. I’m so glad that we became roommates and I can’t wait for the next three years with you by my side.

To my neighbor, thank you for becoming a third roommate and for always having an open door (and an open fridge). Thanks for watching "One Tree Hill" with me while eating pizza and cookies and for always being down to do ridiculous things. Most of all, thank you for always being there, no matter whether I’m right or wrong.

To my group chat, thank you for being my girls, my partners in crime and for allowing me to call you my best friends. I will forever cherish the memories we have made together this year. Everything from nights out on the weekends to having girl nights in the dorm rooms laughing so hard that we cry and for all of our spontaneous (sometimes ridiculous) adventures. Thank you for blowing your money with me while online shopping, for being crazy with me and for always being up for food runs. Thank you for keeping my secrets and for allowing me to count on you always. Thank you for always being there and for always knowing what to say. I adore each and every one of you and I don’t know what I would do with out you.

To my Hip Hop girls, thanks for showing me that I can still be apart of a great team in college. Thanks for the fun formals and all of the laughs we have in practice. Joining this team was one of the best decisions I made this year and is where I made some of my closest friends.

To my guy friends, thank you for being your crazy selves. Thank you for giving me rides, for bringing me ice cream and for always being there and for sometimes playing the fake boyfriend card. Thank you for all the pre-games, for always sticking up for my friends and I and for occasionally making me do crazy things with you. None of you fail to always make me laugh and you always know how to make me smile when I’m not having the best day. Thanks for coming to me with your problems for advice and for giving me advice too. Freshmen year definitely wouldn’t have been the same without you.

To all the other friends I made this year, thank you for showing me that you really do make the best friends in college. Thanks for all the fun times we had and all the fun memories we made at the basketball games, the weekends on the strip, dorm rooms, and everywhere else at this small, beautiful campus. I don’t know what I would do without any of you. You are all the reasons why freshmen year was great.

I can’t wait to see what the future will have to bring us and the people we will become within the next three years, of course while being by each other's sides.

Love always,

Your friend from Freshmen year

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

The holiday season is full of stress, debt, and forced conversation. While we rush through the month of December, it's important to take a step back and enjoy the moments before they're gone. I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
