An Open Letter To The First Girl I Met In College

How Lo changed my college life.

An Open Letter To The First Girl I Met In College

Dear Lo,

I was so scared that I would never make any friends in college. I was so scared that I was going to hate my dorm and never be able to live in it. I was so scared I was going to eat alone every day in the cafeteria. I was so scared that I was going to gain fifty pounds during the school year because I would never have motivation to go to the gym or be able to find any gym buddies. I was so scared I was never going to get invited to parties. But, thank you for being the person that made sure that I was always alright, no matter what the circumstance.

Thank you for being such a great friend. You always know how to make me laugh with your hilarious Snapchats and obnoxious laugh, thank you.

Thank you for teaching me the best way to decorate my dorm. I now know the most perfect way to hang up my letters and decorate it perfectly!

Thank you for teaching me that it's okay to eat alone. Most college students believe that everyone is either on a break from my class or they are waiting for their friends, so it's perfectly normal to eat alone.

Thank you for being my own personal trainer and helping me keep in shape. I will never forget the time I was on the verge of crying because of how hard circuit training is with you.

And thank you for helping me rush. I was nervous about not being invited to parties, but being in a fraternity has helped not only my self-esteem, but has also helped me make the best friends, no matter what the situation.

Thank you, Lo, for being the best friend that I have had in college. I can't wait to see all the great memories we make soon.

XOXO,
BFF

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
