An Open Letter From A Female Trump Supporter

An Open Letter From A Female Trump Supporter
Bill Clark

I am a female Trump...supporter. Now, I enunciate on the female part because people tend to look at Trump as the candidate that disrespects women. If you're a normal human being, you've done things wrong. Whether you stole and crashed your grandmother's car, or you forgot to water the grass. You were wrong, and the consequences came with. Donald Trump is a celebrity, and he always will be. But at this point in time, he is also the Republican nominee for the 2016 election.

So why do I support Donald Trump?

Trump is not the ordinary politician and this is such a good thing. He is different, very different. His ideas are not all radical, but they do go against the normal status quo. America is heading towards demise and needs a huge change. Hillary's policies mirror those of Obama's, which isn't so much of a bad thing but is definitely not bringing any more good. As a country, we are so afraid of change and I think that's why so many people try to put Trump down. We are so afraid of the change he is going to bring, that we are trying so hard to shut it down before it even gets a chance to prevail. The biggest issue that we all have seen, is the way Donald Trump speaks about women. Not that I don't see a problem, but the things said are used against trump by Hillary to make women hate Trump. Not hate his immigration policy or his view on gun control. Just to hate Trump. These things should not have ever been said, but when they were, Trump was not a politician. It doesn't justify the things he said ten years ago, but when listening to these commercials and ads, I think that we should keep this in the back of our minds.

His honesty does hurt some people, but only because this transparency is not something we are used to seeing in politicians. To Trump, honesty is his best policy..his blunt words are those of straightforwardness. People are afraid of hearing the truth, but that is exactly what we need. Trump speaks for the actual people of America. His thoughts and words are what we are all thinking, but are too afraid to say. I think that is the real reason so many people do support him. He only knows so much becoming a politician in the past year, and his policies are rounded by those of the people that support him. He wants to bring jobs back to American workers, something that most politicians care little about. Trump is a businessman with a proven track record. He built and created a long-lasting business and is well-known. He possesses the quality and traits of a leader, but for some reason, people would rather have a corrupt senator in office. One that let a guilty man get away with raping a 12-year-old girl, and claimed the young girl had a "tendency to seek out older men." In my opinion, this is way more unacceptable than anything Trump has ever said.

With Trump will coming an iconic first family. Melania would make an amazing First Lady and represents a lot as an individual. An intelligent woman, who is an immigrant herself with an ambitious interest in women’s health issues. All of his children are very successful, especially Ivanka. She is an aspiring business woman, a model, and a mother. We have had an African American family in the white house, isn't time for a mixed modern one? He supports whites, blacks, latinos, the LBGTQ community, and everyone else in America. His policies are spot on, especially those about immigration. This is the biggest issue facing America in 2016. If you are going to vote biased on one issue, make it this one, it will affect all the others.

So if you hate Donald Trump, there may be no changing your mind. But instead of loving Hillary just because you hate Trump, look at it as a process of elimination. We all want to "Make America Great Again", but only one candidate has the appeal and the will to accomplish it. And whether it's said aloud or not, we all know which candidate this is. The businessman, father, husband, iconic, lovable motor-mouth himself.

"You have to think anyway, so why not think big?"

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
