Congratulations!

An Open Letter To My College Grad Sibling

Dear Sibling,

First off congratulations. I can not tell you how proud I am of you. You are probably the smartest person I know and I never cease to be impressed by how intelligent you truly are. I remember when you used to try to explain math to me and could solve one of my homework problems three different ways in less than five minutes. You're a good writer, you excel in science and for some reason math makes complete sense to you even though it's like a foreign language to me- which is also one of your strengths, ¿No?

But aside from school, you're also one of the low-key coolest people I know. You've traveled a lot in your 21 years, you're published and you've been skydiving. You've done so much already and graduating college is just another thing to add to that list. And by completing this chapter in your life, you're opening up the door to the adult world which may seem kind of scary and maybe not super exciting right now. But I know you're going to do great things out there in the "real" world.

Not only are you one of the strongest people i know; But you are smart, kind and thoughtful. You honestly are a rarity. And your friends, future employer, and future wife will be very lucky people to have you in their lives. Because I know I'm very lucky to be able to call you my brother.

Thanks for torturing me as a child because it made me stronger, for advising me as a teenager because it made me wiser and supporting me as an adult because it made me confident. You truly are the best sibling I could ever ask for.

Even when you annoy me to no end or when you're mean to me, you're still my brother and that will always be more important.

Thanks for having my back no matter what and for venting with me about when mom won't get off ours; Thanks for reminding me that nobody's perfect and even the 'number 3 in his high school class' Tufts student makes mistakes, but that's perfectly okay. Thanks for supporting me in everything I do and encouraging me to believe in myself.

I'm so proud of you. Mom and Dad are so proud of you. And you should be so proud of yourself.

So again, congratulations! Good luck out there, you'll be fine! I know you have all the power to make this world a better place and I can't wait to watch you continue to grow. Thanks for being a role model, a friend and a brother. Remember that I'm always here if you need anything. And never forget what you are capable of. Here's to your blindingly bright future! Cheers!

Love,

Your little sister and forever best friend

P.S. Don't forget me when you make the big bucks!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
