An Open Letter To Christmas From Thanksgiving

Dear Christmas,

Hey again. It's me, Thanksgiving. It's been awhile since we've talked. About a year now? Wow, I can't believe how fast time seems to be going. Soon enough it'll be my day, and then yours. I've just got a few things to talk to you about if you have a minute.

So lately you've been moving in on my territory. I've always had November, and you've always had December. That's our thing, and we've made it work for years. So I don't see why you've started to edge in. I've heard your music playing from cars, and not to mention Target had Christmas trees for sale on November 1st! You didn't even give me a day. And don't think I didn't notice the slice and bake cookies with Christmas trees on them for sale in Publix. PSA: Pumpkin pie tastes better than cookies anyways.

When did everyone just forget about me? I'm the easy, unstressful holiday between Halloween and you. I give everyone a break. All you have to do for me is cook yummy food and gather family around. Why is everyone so eager to get to you anyways? For you, it's all about finding the perfect present and attending as many cocktail holiday parties as possible. So stressful, like who would ever want to do that?

So can you please calm down? Maybe just stop with everything, and give me my moment in the spotlight. Everyone knows you're happening, so why all the commercials and flyers?!? I'm frankly tired of it. Let me have my moment, I only get it once a year you know.

Respectfully,

Thanksgiving

P.S. What's so special about you anyways? You may have one fat guy but I can make millions.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
