Dear Robby,
I am so excited for you to begin the best four years of your life at the University of Michigan. Ann Arbor will be the perfect place for you to call home. Starting your freshman year is a huge step in to your future. You are going to have the best time, meet unforgettable friends, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
The first day of school is always a little scary. I would recommend you walk to your classes the day before so you are not lost on your first day. Another little tip is to NOT WEAR YOUR LANYARD that you receive at orientation. This is the biggest giveaway that you are a freshman. As long as you walk to class with a smile, you will do just fine. Business school is in your near future, and I cannot wait to hear how you like all of your classes. The class size might be slightly bigger than a high school class, but as long as you stay focused, you won't even be able to tell.
With the biggest stadium in the country, The Big House will give you goosebumps every time you walk through those stadium doors to watch your team win. I will be looking for you in the crowd on television. Jim Harbaugh will soon be running the school, so don't forget your khaki pants. Go Blue!
Let me tell you a little secret about the dorms, you will find some of your best friends there. Whether they are your roommate, neighbor, or even someone on a different floor, you will see and spend every single day with these people. Make the most of it. You guys can all eat together at the same time every night, or play spike ball on Friday afternoons. I am still very close with my friends from the dorms. I still live with two of them. I cannot wait to meet these friends of yours when I come out to visit you for the Ohio State game.
I wish I could be there to help move you in and see how great you are doing there. Thankfully, I am only a phone call away. I am going to miss your positivity, great work ethic, comedy, and most importantly my little brother. I love you to the moon and back. Nothing makes me more happy than seeing you doing great things in your life. Have a great first week and a great college experience.
Love your older sister,
Allison
