An Open Letter To My Bovine

Dear Bovine,

Today is show day and there is a lot to do. It's been a very early morning for both of us and I'm sure you are just as tired as I am. It seems all we do together is eat, sleep, and show.

But, today is your day and you are on your way to compete against the best. We worked hard to get here. I remember all those days of feeding you, catching you, and washing you. Each day we would spend hours together just to get to this one day that determines all. But remember, it is one person's opinion and I will still love you. So, just do your best and set up nicely for the judge and look beautiful out there.

I will be proud of you no matter what because after all I am your proud show owner!

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here.
