Dear you,

I could refer to you as a variety of self-inflicting names: “loser, jerk, low life, cheater”.Out of respect, I will avoid doing so.If you haven’t figured it out yet, you’re not exactly at the top of my “favorite people” list and quite frankly, you never were.Your hurtful actions have created conflict in my best friend’s life; you’ve hurt her emotionally in more ways than I can count.

With every chance that she gave you, she slept further and further away from her true self and into the vicious clasp of your wrath.

She would be gleaming with excitement to have you come visit her at school, but you would never show.I caught the change in her voice, the dark bags below her brown eyes.I noticed how she stopped taking such good care of herself; she was focusing on the health of her family. She was dying inside, and you were the culprit.

So tell me, how was it staying up with her all hours of the night while she was crying? Are you in disbelief? What was her reaction to all of your surprises? I’m not referring to the screen shot of you messaging other girls either. What she was going through, I was going through it all with her. Her sadness was my sadness, her happiness with my happiness.

I will never agree that she, one of the most caring people that I know, ever deserved what you put her through. I resent you for hindering her perception of love. She never deserved to feel like she was burdening you when she was looking for your encouragement after a long day.

Your malicious actions will not go unpunished. I full heartedly promise that karma will find you and consume the deepest part of your soul. She will continue to rise and shine without you around to weigh her down.

My best friend is an intelligent young woman with a bright future and a big heart. You took advantage of her forgivingness and her ability to put everyone before herself.Someday, a great man will treat her how she deserves, with deep admiration and great appreciation.

My best friend deserves a guy who looks at her confidently.
My best friend deserves a guy who will speak highly of her for her intelligence and beauty.
My best friend deserves a guy who can grow with her and support her ambitions.
My best friend deserves a guy who boasts and brags about her.
My best friend deserves a guy who wants her and only her.

She’s always been out of your league anyways. Oh, and if you’re wondering how she’s doing, she’s great.

Sincerely,
Your ex-girlfriend's bestfriend

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
