You're a wonderful gift, and I can't wait to see who you'll be.
But honestly, I was hoping you'd be cuter.
Facebook has this ability to just suck me in with their fun quizzes and headlines. When I saw that one of my friends from high school posted about what their future baby will look like, I couldn't wait to get in on the fun. So I followed the link, and it got to work right away. I didn't have to submit any information. No photos or anything. It really amazed me that a Facebook quiz could determine how my DNA and an unknown partner's would look in a real baby. So I wait about ten seconds to see my future flesh and blood on my iPhone screen. Incredible.
Here's what you were supposed to look like: Big blue eyes, thick golden hair, an adorable pink hat, and an Instagram filter.
The minute I saw this precious face, I couldn't wait to see you in real life. To post photos of you on Facebook, get endless likes, and make old friends jealous. So I did what anyone would do, and got to work! There was really no time to waste because sometimes in these Facebook quizzes, if you try them more than once your result changes. I couldn't risk that! I got to work that day.
I carried you for nine months, and could hardly contain my excitement. You were going to be here any minute.
Then you came. And you looked nothing like your Facebook photo. First of all, you were a boy, which made me wonder why you were wearing that pink hat in your photo. Never heard of a boy in pink before. You looked like a wrinkled old man in the form of a baby. And even though it confused me at first, you weren't even wearing that cute pink hat which I thought was a ripoff.
I'm sure you function the same, and at the end of the day, there's still time for you to get a little cuter, but I'll just have to wait until then to post pictures of you.
