Dear Ladies,
I just want to say thank you for all that has been done recently to ensure that us women have equal rights. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by the group of women that I do, and you all make me so damn proud. First off, I want to thank the woman who's had an abortion and who will never stop fighting for rights over her body. I want to thank the Muslim woman for not allowing Trump's comments to bring her down, but motivate her to speak louder. I want to thank the mothers who are raising their son's to know that sexual assault isn't normal and it never will be. I want to thank the mothers who are raising their girl's to stand up tall and be loud. I want to thank the black woman who has been disenfranchised and knows that the time is coming where she has equal rights no matter of skin color. I want to thank the Hispanic woman who brought her family to the US for a better chance at life, and who won't just leave because the President doesn't want her here. I want to thank all the women who identify as LGBTQ+ for being some of the bravest women I know-- for standing up for your rights as human beings. I want to thank the woman in science, who won't let her gender intimidate her from being in the STEM field, or allowing climate change denial.
I want to thank all the women who stood up during the march, who held signs up high, who screamed and yelled, who wouldn't be told no. I can't thank you enough for standing for those who are scared, for those who can't stand quite yet. I want to thank all the women who haven't let this presidency get them discouraged but instead lit a fire underneath them to fight that much harder. This presidency has made me come to the realization that we have a very loud voice. That now more than ever, we need to support our fellow women and hold their hands when they are afraid to use their voice. Thank you to the women in my life for always holding my hand, giving me a shoulder, and when I need it, being my voice. I could go on and on about you ladies and how awesome you are. Thank you for continuing to fight for people who can't, thank you for not backing down even when it's tough. Thank you for ensuring a brighter future for our children and the generations to come.
Ladies, we are gonna move mountains.
Love,
A fellow woman
