An Open Letter To All High Schoolers

This is an open letter to ALL high schoolers. I know you see lots of articles like this, but this one is unique in its own sense because it goes out to all of you and not just the senior class. To start off, I honestly believe that high school was the best 4 years of my life. You're going to hear others say "well high school wasn't that great for me" or "honestly, college was more fun for me" and there are people who didn't enjoy it like I did, but don't let that ruin your expectations of high school. When you are in high school, make sure you try to go to as many social events and school sponsored activities as you possibly can whether its a football game, basketball game, band concerts, a school play, pep rallies, whatever you are into. Just the social events alone will make the time you have there so much more enjoyable and it will also give you the best memories. Next, make sure you study and do ALL of your work. I know that all of you are thinking "well in college they wont make me do all of this busy work" or "All anyone looks at is your ACT." I promise you that that i not true. We do still have busy work, but it i given to us as a greater amount of homework, so what we don't do in class goes home with us and we have to do it there. COLLEGES WILL LOOK AT YOUR GPA!!!! It is not dependent on just your ACT score. I personally lost scholarships because my GPA just barely missed the mark, even though i had a high enough ACT score for the scholarships so make sure you are doing all that you can to keep that GPA up. Out of everything in this article this will be the most important...MAKE TIME FOR YOUR FRIENDS! What made high school so fun for me was that I had a friend group that would always want to go out and do something or even get together and just talk. The best part about high school is your friends and you need to enjoy them while you can because after you graduate you aren't going to see them every day like you used to. Yes you'll see them here and there, but it will never be like it was when you were always together so try to make time with your friends; whether it is going to a movie or just hanging around talking. The last thing I want to write about is actually for my seniors. Live your senior year up! Go to every event, be on the front row for football games, cheer the loudest, dress up for the homecoming days, and be the example that you want the other classes to look up to. Most of the freshman look up to the senior class and if they see that you are having a good time then it will make them want to have a good time. You rule the school! Use it to show the other classes how great your last year is and that you can always have a good time!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
