Dear old high school classmates,
Didn't the past five years went by fast? Most of us might've even graduated from college by now. Since I couldn't wait for a ten-year reunion for all 42 of us to get back together again, I just wanted to send out this letter to tell how much of the five closest classmates mean to me after spending five years on my own and never forgetting about you.
Classmate #1
You went on your own becoming a welder. We've been through too many morning classes where you could never match your energy with mine. In return, I couldn't always match my energy with yours with the constant sleepovers and numerous projects out in your garages. You must've known that I'm quite adaptable as an average teenager. Now as adults, we've grown up to become completely different. I'm more of a nerd, and you're more of the respectable hard worker.
Classmate #2
I love how your home was built to own a horse ranch nearby. You kept two or three horses to bring across the country in showmanship competitions. You must've been so orderly. That explained why you were always the top of every math class we have together. You take great care in your horses with the healthy measurements of carrots and sugar cubes.
Classmate #3
To this day, I hope you're still riding your dirt bikes for the thrills. You drove in one of the most awesome trucks I've ever seen. Not only you were the biggest Nitro Circus fan around, you wanted to be just as big of any of those hotshots with all of those stunts. But for starters, you did get sponsored as a motocross racer traveling around Minnesota. Thank you for entertaining me with all of those cruises during lunch and shouting out your catchphrase: "Braaaaaap!"
Classmate #4
Your grew up from a very athletic family. Not only your father was our school's gym teacher, he coached me through my potential more as a student regaining some self-esteem than becoming a star basketball player. Whether it was in your genes or plain hard work, you scored more than 10,000 points by your junior year of girls basketball. That "passed on the torch" to your younger brother to do the same in his junior year. My sincere kudos to your blessed family.
Classmate #5
You had a lot of growing up to do after we graduated. You kept work simple by making subs and pizzas, but you also became a father. It blows my mind for how anyone from high school are started to become parents. I might only think that you've grown up a lot after you used to beat me at countless video games. You tried pushing me into becoming a better gamer when you recommended an Xbox 360, but I wanted to prove you wrong and live with the "mistake" of a PS3. Good times, right?
We all had our perks to grow from, Class of 2012. Sooner or later by the next five years, I strive to get back in touch with you.
Sincerely yours,
Gavin
