Living on purpose with purpose

Oops They Played It Again

Oops they played it again. The Shop ‘n Save intercom filled my ears with Britney Spears. Maybe they wanted the past to puke on present customers. Maybe they wanted to deter shoplifters. It’s possible that they desired to bless the eardrums of those present. I am unaware of the exact motives behind the song selection. I am certain, however, that an employee of the In Store Radio Network was intentional with his or her selection.

Intentionality is deliberate action, the exercise of free-will. Its alternative spelling is L-O-V-E. Its action spelling is cleaning up the kitchen before you’re asked. It’s buying a friend’s favorite candy and asking about her well being as a demonstration of your care.

Intentionality has the grin of a cheshire cat when you compliment the gossiper who must inform even you of your flaws. A lack of reciprocity increases its determination to love and would deliver a genuine thank you card to her desk. The precipitation of its eyes flood every ocean when you neglect to change, yet hope for change to come. Intentionality longs to live inside all who claim Christ.

Christians need to act on purpose with purpose. It should be our desire to meditate on ways we can demonstrate the love of God to those in our relationships. All our actions should possess this motive. Not every human will submit to the lordship of Christ, but everyone can feel loved by Him through us. Perfect Love testifies infinitely louder than perfect apologetics.

We can prepare to testify by presenting our requests through prayer and petition with thanksgiving. Requests for godly wisdom have guaranteed approval (James 1:5-8). Without preparation, we will mimic a lawyer who arrived at a trial without meeting his client or reading any documentation on the case. A client requires careful observation, The Documentation should be firmly planted in our hearts, and the Judge needs to be thoroughly consulted before we show up in the courtroom.

Regardless of how hopeless a case may seem, this is not the case. Our Judge is the most intentional Being in the universe. He intended to save us before the first atom was created. All of our days were ordained by Him before we took our first breath. He pursues each of us with a dazzling love. He knows exactly how, what, and when to provide for you in your situation.

God provides. His resources are given to you for others. Who is intended to receive those resources?

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
