There is something about going to gym (or exercising in general) that makes most of us want to cuddle up in front of the TV with every piece of junk food we have in our house and binge watches our favorite shows on Netflix. We often think of the short-term effects of working out (i.e., being sore, losing TV time, etc.). Instead, what we should be focusing on is the long-term effects of exercising. If you find yourself needing a little extra motivation, keep reading the next 25 affirmations!

1. In two weeks, you'll feel it. In four weeks, you'll see it. In eight weeks, you'll hear it.

Keep going. It takes time, but every second will be worth it.

2. Do something today that you will be proud of tomorrow.

Remember that feeling the next you don't want to exercise!

3. Excuses don't get results...

...hard work and determination does.

4. Keep your squats low and your standards high.

Part one of every girl's new motto...

5. A year from now you'll wish you started today.

Don't wait... now is the time.

6. Remember your 'why.'

And don't stop until you accomplish your goal.

7. Exercising is a blessing, not a chore. I workout because I am grateful that I physically can.

A different perspective on exercise...

8. Do your squats, and drink your water.

Part two of every girl's new motto.

9. Change doesn't mean you like the old you. It means you love yourself enough to know you deserve better.

You start to live a healthier lifestyle because you love yourself, not because you want to change yourself.

10. Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do.

Another new perspective on exercising...

11. You will never always be motivated. You have to learn to be disciplined.

Find a way to get up and get moving even when it seems like the most difficult thing at the time.

12. You've always been beautiful. Now you're just deciding to be healthy, fitter, faster, and stronger. Remember that.

Healthy lifestyle = Healthy person

13. It doesn't matter what others think... it's what you believe.

Believe you can do it? Then you can!

14. Yesterday you said tomorrow.

As Nike tells us... just do it.

15. Result come over time... not over night.

Consistency is key!

16. It doesn't get easier. You just get better.

One day those Burpees are going to feel like nothing!

17. Just start.

The waiting and anticipation is worse than the actual work out.

18. You don't need fancy clothes in order to exercise. You just need yourself and some motivation.

Throw on your favorite t-shirt, running shorts, and hit the gym.

19. Love yourself enough to live a healthy lifestyle.

You will thank yourself for it later.

20. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

That's the truth!

21. Someone who is busier than you is exercising right now.

If it's a priority, you will find the time.

22. Strive for progress... not perfection.

You get a little better everyday, and that's what matters.

23. On good days... work out. On bad days... work out harder.

Exercise makes you feel better regardless of how the rest of your day went.

24. Do it now, or 'later' becomes 'never.'

We all know that "if only" feeling.

25. If at first you don't succeed, tighten your ponytail and try again.

Nothing beats determination.

There are plenty of ways to exercise. Find one that works for you and stick to it! You won't be sorry!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
