Now that Spring is here, it's time to start sprucing up out closets. Whether it's because hibernation did a number on your waistline or you find your closet is looking a little too "2012 Tumblr Fashion"-y, there are plenty of online options these days to buy clothes from.
Although many online sites carry the same clothes or same styles of clothes, differences in quality, price, sizing, and other factors make a huge difference in determining the best place to buy from. Because of this, I'm back on my BS and have decided to compile a list of the best online stores to buy from.
1. Zaful
I have been afraid of buying clothes online because of a series of reasons including my odd body proportions and how do you return it when there's no store to go to, but Zaful really made me change my mind. Really cute, unique clothes at a fair price make it one of my favorite places to shop.(REALLY great place for a bathing suit)
Pros: With constant sales and easy to find promo codes, Zaful is a friend of your wallet, but also your body. Their clothes ship quickly and customer service is pretty good.
Cons: You are almost guaranteed to need to buy a size up. They also don't have plus-sized clothing, which isn't cool, but most of their clothes go up to an XL size. There can be some manufacturing errors here and there, but mostly just loose threads.
2. Fashion Nova
Fashion Nova is perhaps the most famous Fast Fashion site on the internet. An Empire that has been created and largely sustained through Instagram and other social media, with endorsements from celebrities like Cardi B, they obviously have something on the site worth buying. I personally haven't bought anything from them because I am afraid that I don't have enough curves for it, but I imagine it's worth checking out.
Pros: They produce clothes for curvy people which means they're all but designed so that you'll look good in anything you buy from them...
Cons:...as long as it fits. I have heard many people talk about the way some articles of clothing (cough, the jeans, cough) are designed to fit a specific body type, and it doesn't look like one that most people actually have. While that does leave most shirts and accessories as fair game, it's definitely something to keep in mind before you buy.
3. Boohoo
Boohoo is one of the lesser known Fast Fashion sites, is a British-based brand with a wide range of clothes and prices.
Pros: Has petite, curvy, and tall sections, making it one of the most diversified fashion sites online. They also tend to have higher quality clothes than some of the other sites.
Cons: If you're based out of the US, paying for shipping can kind of suck. A lot. And maybe cause for the initial savings you went out of your way to
4. Pretty Little Things
Pretty Little Things is another UK-based company that seems to be more well-known for their dresses. They also seem to produce more revealing simple clothing. They tend to focus on basic silhouettes and designs.
Pros: One of my friends ordered some dresses and shoes from this company and they all came quickly and were very nice (she still has a pair of shoes that I'd love to take) and always have great sales.
Cons: Most of the other sites have men's (and even kids') fashion as well, and they don't. Their clothes also tend to require you to have a lot of body confidence.
5. ASOS
ASOS is one of the oldest fast-fashion site that carries multiple brands. Their clothes are very high quality and high fashion.
Pros: Their clothes are very high quality. Over break, they had a GREAT sale on really awesome turtlenecks. While they are also more expensive, when they do have sales, you can get really great stuff for a good price.
Cons: Some of their clothes can pass the boundary between "oh that's different but I like it" to "why did you make this", but just don't buy them. Their clothes are definitely the most expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for.
While there is no one-size-fits-all for clothes and there is definitely no guarantees that one person's experience with any site will be as good, or as bad, as someone else's. They're definitely worth looking at. One of my hobbies is scrolling through Zaful just to cyber-window shop. They are also always giving larger discounts the more you buy, so if you'd like to buy from any of the sites, it's best to save up and buy in bulk to be sure to get the most clothes from the best price.
