In today's world people are always looking for something to make their day better. Whether that be eating an entire pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream, hanging out with friends, or finding great new music, it's the little things that seem to make someone's day. One11Twenty's sophomore EP, Better Days, is sure to do just that.

Led by Kyle Delfatti and Tim Jordan, the two have coined their own genre of lyric pop: a genre unique to them that highlights the use of cleverly poetic lyrics, while evoking a sound somewhere between Americana and hip-hop. The band's explanation is that, "Often production can overshadow the lyrics, but we didn't want our lyricism to be lost within the overall sound". One11Twenty derives their name from their previous band's dissolve. The first band had a total of $556 and when they broke up, each of the five numbers were left with $111.20 respectively.

After the success of their debut EP, Last 10 Seconds, that has gained over one million streams collectively, they have decided to start a new chapter. The new EP begins with "Ellendale", a track about following your dreams all the way down to LA. The song is named after a street in the USC area, where the band coincidentally played their EP release show.

Before the release of the EP, "Better Days" and "Famous Kids" were released as singles. The title track is a modern day love song about falling for someone, who you're not yet with, knowing that in time their will be better days. "Famous Kids" deals with having a type of confidence that makes you feel like you could take on anything, no matter what life throws at you.

In their production the band uses analog gear to give their music a more retro sound. According to the band, "When creating Better Days we used analog gear, which isn't used as often anymore. But we wanted to use this to give the project an 80's vibe, while having a modern sound". This is a perfect explanation of the overall vibe of the EP. It's the type of music that you could blast in the car while driving down the highway or dance around to with your friend in a cramped apartment.

Big things are ahead for One11Twenty and I look forward to seeing what they have up their sleeves next. But for now Better Days is available across all streaming platforms for your listening pleasure.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
