"One Tree Hill" Inspires

Every movie, television show, and even book we see has at least one well-known quote in it. A quote that will either pull at your heartstrings or make you wipe your tears away by reminding you everything will be OK, or even motivate you to be something more than what you see yourself as. I was a very avid reader, and an even more avid “Netflix-er” so I’ve read/heard my fair share of inspirational quotes. One semi chick flick related Netflix series that I binge watched and fell in love with was "One Tree Hill." A little typical of me, but hey, this dramatic romance show taught me a lot. So, if you have watched it, these quotes will do nothing but remind you of everything you learned and may even make you pull out season one for the third time. If you have yet to take in this overwhelming series, maybe these quotes will light a fire in your heart and you’ll just have to open Netflix up.

  1. “Have you ever wondered what marks our time here? If one life can really make an impact on the world… or if the choices we make matter? I believe they do. And I believe that one man can change many lives; for better or for worse.” -Lucas Scott
  2. “Truth is still absolute. Believe that. Even when that truth is hard and cold, and more painful than you’ve ever imagined. And even when truth is more cruel than any lie.” -Lucas Scott
  3. “You can choose to blame your circumstances on fate or bad luck or bad choices. Or you can fight back. Things aren’t always going to be fair in the real world. That’s just the way it is. But for the most part, you get what you give. The rest of your life is being shaped right now, with the dreams you chase, the choices you make, and the person you decide to be. The rest of your life is a long time, and the rest of you life starts right now.” -Haley James
  4. “It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re 17 planning for someday, and then quietly and without you ever really noticing, someday is today. Then someday is yesterday, and this is your life.” -Nathan Scott
  5. “Albert Camus once wrote, ‘Blessed are the hearts that can bend; they shall never be broken.” But I wonder if there’s no breaking then there’s no healing, and if there’s no healing, then there’s no learning. The struggle is a part of life, so must all hearts be broken?” -Nathan Scott
  6. "We fell in love, and at some point, the people we love forgot to love us back.” -Keith Scott
  7. “Most people are stronger than they know. They just forget to believe in it sometimes.” -Keith Scott
  8. “Until you let someone in, you’ll always be alone.”
  9. “We’re all crazy, some of us just hide it better than others.”
  10. “I believe in true love. I believe in love at first sight. I believe love conquers all. And that doesn’t mean there’s not going to be hard days, or difficult things to deal with, because there will be. But finding that person who does it for you and knowing, that person loves you back, just makes everything so much easier.” -Haley James
  11. “Life’s too short to play games. If you love somebody and you want to be with them, then go get them. Deal with the mess later. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring.”
  12. “There’s nothing wrong with fairy tales. Everyone ends up happily ever after.”
  13. “Sometimes in order to move forward, you have to go back.”
  14. “It doesn’t matter how you plan it. It doesn’t matter how you envision it. Without even knowing it, sometimes life has a way of finding you with exactly what you need, or exactly who you need.” -Quinn James
  15. “You’re way too young not to believe it’s gonna be okay.”

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
