I sit here and write this article (as I should be studying for my Business Law final that is tomorrow - oops) and I contemplate what I am doing over winter break. How much I want to work and how much down time I have because next semester will be busy for myself. I realize this is my last finals week for a fall semester. I won't have to deal with the dreadful cold while studying for a final in the library anymore after this year. This is it. Come next semester, that's it.
As a senior, I have many thoughts: What am I doing after school? Am I staying where I currently am? Do I want to travel? How am I going to afford being an adult? I realize that I am rushing through to get done with these finals so I can get back home to Maryland all while I just now realized that I have just one more semester left of my college career. I am rushing to get home when I should be slowing down and enjoying what time I have left. I have one more semester left on my college campus. The place that has become my home for the last few years. It is certainly going to be different, to say the least.
Now I know this, for many people, is only the first step in their continued education path. Many people are continuing on with grad school and so on. I will have two degrees by the time I finish up with my four years of college in the spring... I'm content with the schooling I have. Even so, one more semester of being an undergrad before they head off on their next adventure. Even more schooling... best of luck to you!
As seniors, we should be spending time with our friends who are just down the hall from us or the next house over before we are states away from each other. Seeing each other is not going to be as easy when college is over. We need to live in the moment now and not look back on any regrets. We need to finish out strong with our classes (can't afford to slack off now!). Keep up with having good connections with your instructors so you can stay in contact with them later on in life. Do everything you need to do for yourself to make sure your last semester as a college student (or undergrad) goes swimmingly!
