One Last Summer Playlist

Summer may be coming to an end, but good music doesn't have to.

It's that time of the year again. School is just around the corner and the summer is coming to an end. Who's to say there can't be one more bumpin' summer playlist? This is an amazing time of the year for music because so many artists are either releasing new material as we speak or gearing up to drop albums within the next month or two (JoJo, I see you, boo). Before you start making a back-to-school playlist or some terrible "studying" mix, take the time to check out these killer tracks before you pack up for your dorm or, if you're like me, bop around to them as you pack.

1. "Make Me" by Britney Spears (feat. G-Eazy).

This song has started to get some great airtime on most radio stations but it is such a jam. And who doesn't love G-Eazy these days?

2. "Gravel To Tempo" by Hayley Kiyoko.

Kiyoko is fresh off a hit track entitled "Girls Like Girls," which is also a jam, but this one is particularly awesome. It's definitely a hit for your workout playlist as well.

3. "Closer" by the Chainsmokers (feat. Halsey).

There is a special place in my heart for both The Chainsmokers and Halsey. This popular tune has been tearing through the U.S. recently, and it is one of my favorite songs of the summer.

4. "Let Me Love You" by DJ Snake and Justin Bieber.

I will be the first to admit that I'm weary these days of Bieber's music and don't warm up to his songs immediately, but this one is sure to be a favorite for people that aren't even Bieber fans. DJ Snake (and Major Lazer) have been teaming up with different artists lately and creating some really amazing tracks.

5. "Atic" by Astrid S.

If you look on Astrid S' Twitter, there's an acoustic cover of this song that is out of this world. However, the techno version is just as amazing. and this is another great addition to that workout playlist.

6. "Stuck" by The Aces.

This girl group was completely foreign to me until I listened to this song, and I'm so glad I did. It reminds me of some light rock from a different era, but it definitely has some pop notes to it as well. I'd say this is a great car jam.

7. "Something About You" by Tayler Buono.

I'm biased because I love Buono's voice and have for a while, but this track is really beautiful and makes you want to sing it in the shower. It's an awesome summer song, but could just as easily be a great song for the school year.

8. "Dope" by Fifth Harmony.

How could a Fifth Harmony song not make this playlist?

9. "F*** Apologies" by JoJo and Wiz Khalifa.

I'm biased again because I've seen this performed live by the goddess herself, but this track is honestly so good. It's fierce, unapologetic (pun intended), great for the car and has a solid beat behind it.

10. "Colors-Audien Remix" by Halsey.

This is by far one of the best remixes for any song I've ever heard in my life. I am a huge fan of the original song by Halsey, but the DJ who mixed this new track paired the original with a great backdrop. I rarely like these remixes, so this one is definitely high on my list.

11. "Show Me Love- EDX Remix/Radio Edit" by Sam Feldt and Kimerly Anne.

One of the only other remixes that really does it for me, this song is great for a workout or just generally bopping around. It's super upbeat and has a great rhythm.

12. "New York Times" by Xavier White.

Last but certainly not least, this song is one of my favorites on the list. I'd never heard of Xavier White before, but he basically is a mixture of Post Malone and Desiigner with the lyrical genius and smooth tone of Drake. I think he's definitely an up-and-coming type of artist and this tune is awesome.

We don't buy into these... just like how we don't buy our friends.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
