The 14th of February is known to be Valentine's Day, the day to celebrate with your boyfriend or girlfriend, with your husband or wife, with your male or female partner.

What if you don't have a partner, what if you're not engaged, what if you don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend to spend the evening with. Why shouldn't you celebrate anyway?

Why should this day be precluded to be celebrated only by those who are engaged or with a partner?! What about a woman that loves herself?

Society stereotyped this day as a day to celebrate people that are in love, boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, and wives. Of course, that's something nice, and special. We all had that someone we went out with, and had a candlelight dinner with music in the background. That's amazing! But what if you're single, or separated, or divorced, or unfortunately widowed, why shouldn't you treat yourself anyway? Whatever age you are you always need to treat yourself and Love yourself! Don't think about who left you or who isn't there with you, think about how you can shine. Because yes, you shine!

Many single women get anxious, or depressed, or sad this day of the year if they spend it alone. I'll tell you what... even if you are single you can treat yourself, you can Love yourself, you can spend this day thinking about yourself, and what you can do to make it special even if you're "single".

Society has created this day as a way to celebrate Love. You can express Love in many ways, the love you have for your mom, for your father, for your family, for your grandma, for your sister, for your brother or for your friend, and especially and most important...the Love for yourself.

Self-love, self-care, and why not buy yourself something special and useful!

If you're home alone, treat yourself to an incredible meal, nutritious, healthy, and delicious. You can choose if you want to try a Mexican meal, or just want to try a healthy Italian recipe. Food makes everyone happy, just choose wisely. And don't forget a glass of wine. If you prefer something sweat prepare yourself a cake, brownies, cupcakes, or a tiramisu! That will cheer you up!

Take some time for yourself, read a book, a romantic book, a Nicholas Sparks or Danielle Steel book never let you down. If you want to immerse yourself in another genre you can read a crime novel that can create suspense and makes you want to devour it. Or what about watching a movie or a tv series! Watch Friends, you won't finish an episode without laughing!

Take a relaxing bath with iodized coarse sea salt, put some music on, and just have a glass of wine. Wine is always a good choice even while you take a bath... if you've never tried it, this is the best night to do so!

If you have a hobby that you haven't had time to take care of because you were too busy with work, this is the right time to be creative! Write a book, an article, a poem... or paint! Creativity is the best thing to show yourself what you are capable of!

And last but not least... train! A healthy body with a healthy diet is the perfect combination. After a long stressful day at work, the best thing you want to do is to free yourself from negativity and stress, giving yourself a treat! Train, go run, go for a walk, or do some yoga. These are the best ways to love yourself.

Treat yourself, love yourself, and remember you are beautiful.

As Yoko Ono once said:

Be kind to yourself this evening. Buy something for yourself. Treat yourself to a meal. Look in the mirror and give yourself a smile that is never underrated!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
