The Spring Semester Bucket List

The Spring Semester Bucket List
1. Go to a baseball game

Ole Miss baseball is a HUGE deal. If you’ve never gotten crazy at Swayze, you’re doing something really wrong. Sitting in the student section is ideal. Bring a cooler and find a good seat, because you’re in for some serious fun. Pro tip: If you’re going out after, bring a rain jacket. The forecast will most likely call for a beer shower.

2. Have a picnic in Lamar Park

Lamar Park in the spring is one of the best places to be in Oxford. You can eno, walk or run, go out on the dock or just hangout. Pack up a basket and blanket, grab some friends and relax in the park for the afternoon. You won’t regret it, I promise.

3. Study in the Grove

Okay, this may seem super overrated, but you’d be surprised at how many students that go to Ole Miss have yet to use the Grove for any other purpose besides tailgating. So put down the booze and pick up a book. Plus, Grove squirrels are an added bonus (duh).

4. Go to one Spring Party

Every fraternity on campus throws one big spring party, and it’s vital that you attend at least one. Last year, Sigma Nu’s Woodstock made TFM, Pike had a mechanical bull, and SAE had Moon Taxi. So study early kids, these will make for a very long weekend.

5. Walk/Run Whirlpool Trails

If you ever need a good break, Whirlpool Trails is the way to go. Whether you’re walking  your pup or running off the stress of your Intermediate Accounting class, it could be your new go-to place. New year, new you right?

6. Watch a sunset at Sardis

Sardis offers the perfect ending to any day. It might be muddy, so you may need to borrow a truck, but it’s worth the 15 minute drive!

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
