It doesn't matter how old a song is, it is still wonderful.

Oldies But Goodies

No matter how old some songs are, how many times you play them, they will never get old and you will love them when they come on the radio. Here is a list of my top five favorite songs, from other decades.

1. "She Will Be Loved"

This song is my all time favorite. When Maroon 5 released the song in 2002, I may have only been five years old but it will always have a special place in my heart. The lyrics have such a deep meaning and when this song comes on the radio, you can guarantee that I will be singing it on the top of my lungs with the windows rolled down. After a breakup, a bad day, a bad date, this is the song that I listen to.

2. "Waiting on the World to Change"

John Mayer is an incredible vocalist with a wonderful message to send to his listeners. This song was released in 2006 that sends an important message on the way we should be living our lives. this is a song that I could listen to on repeat everyday for a week. The motivational and inspiring words that John Mayer sings are incredibly powerful. Maybe if everyone thought like John Mayer, our world would be at peace.

3. "Piano Man"

This song was released in 1973 and is the one that everyone knows every word too. Billy Joel has a way with words and with song. Whenever I think of this song, I think of the countless times I have loudly sung every word with my friends. This is a really good song that I enjoy listening to. Billy Joel actually used to play at a piano club in Los Angeles and wrote this song after his experiences of working there for six months. All of the people in the song are based off of people he played for in the Executive room.

4. "I'll Be"

Edwin McCain is an under-appreciated artist that I listen to almost daily. This song was released in 1997 but I know every word and always will cherish this song. His voice is enticing and mesmerizing. This is the song that I would recommend to someone if they wanted to just lay on their bed, stare at the ceiling and contemplate life.

5. "Jumper"

This song has an incredibly deep emotional connection with the listeners and I could listen to this song on repeat everyday for the rest of my life and never get sick of it. I listen to it all the time and know every word. This song was also released in 1997 and is inspirational for those who have ever considered ending their lives. This song says, 'hey, its a temporary problem and I understand what you're going through but its a permanent solution to a temporary problem' and I think that it one of the most important things that a person needs to hear.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
