“For once, I want to talk to you again, just like the old times.”
Everyone has loved and everyone has lost. The feeling of having someone else share the same heart and soul, and then having that shared spirit split in two.
It all begins with heartache. That feeling of pain in your chest from an overwhelming sense of loss and despair. Everything seems dim and tainted with sadness for an instance. Your lungs can’t pull in enough oxygen in between sobs. Your eyes produce so many tears that it seems that you couldn’t possibly shed one more tear, but you do. A headache starts due to dehydration and over thinking; replaying that moment over and over trying to pinpoint where it all went wrong.
In the end, you are left with questions. Was it my fault? How would I know that fight would be the last? Did this happen due to one moment that went awry, or was a compilation of many moments building up to that moment? Was it all real in the end? All the doubts roll in. You begin to believe that everything wasn’t what you believed. However...
In the end, it was real. Just because it didn’t work out, doesn’t mean every moment wasn’t everything you remember it to be. Those memories were true. The feelings were genuine. It was all sincere.
In the end, don’t let the pain over power those memories that you hold so dear. Don’t regret your decisions that were so certain in the moment. In the words of “Wicked”,
“I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them”

In the end, you are left with memories. All the good times that you shared. The late night phone calls. Every date that left you catching feelings. The fragments of paper that contain the scriptures of that feeling. Many photographs piled up in a box that forever keep the memory from dying. All of these memories and objects hold something within them. They all contain the love that was imprinted on everything in the path of you.
I know that I would trade any of those moments with you for the world.
