Taylor Swift is truly a cultural icon for our generation. She started out young in her career and has been one of the very few celebrities in that predicament to not go off the rails. She’s also one of the few to still be regularly coming out with new music today.
However, if you’re like me, you know that her best music is in the past. Old-school Taylor Swift has, and always will be, the best.
1. You have a Taylor Swift playlist exclusively with music from her first four albums
There is truly nothing that will ever top "Taylor Swift," "Fearless," "Speak Now," or "Red." They are truly iconic and are filled entirely with BOPS.
2. And you listen to it often and shamelessly
I was leaving the parking lot once with all of my windows down listening to “You Belong With Me” and I was singing at the top of my lungs. It was definitely my turn to turn out and there was definitely a whole group of guys watching my performance also waiting to turn. No regrets. Never any regrets.
3. You get disappointed when anything from Reputation comes on the radio
Reputation is giving her a bad reputation when she honestly has the best older music.
4. You have to distinguish what type of Taylor Swift fan you are
Yes, I definitely love Taylor Swift, but I do not speak of her most recent albums. Period. But how about the Fearless Tour in 2009 and 2010?! That was really something.
5. You keep up with her now, but from a distance
You best believe I know what happened with Calvin Harris and kept posted on that. You also best believe this is the first time I’ve mentioned that. However, Taylor and Joe Jonas? Let’s talk about that for days.
6. Even though the old stuff is the best, you still have a newer guilty pleasure song that’s still an absolute bop
I will never skip through "Style" anytime it’s on. 1989 as a whole is kinda iffy, but I have to admit there are a few good ones on there.
