Our lives resemble a bottle of wine. While closed we age slowly and remain bottled up on a shelf in some cellar creating some name or form of value for ourselves. We ache for some attention, moreover, affection. Then one day after aging for centuries we finally find ourselves in the moonlight being enjoyed. And as we slowly die drop by drop we celebrate the last moments before our ultimate demise. When we are dying we are finally living.
The other day I was in the movie theater. As I bought my movie ticket and headed towards my screen this elderly couple walked past me. Both of them hand in hand and lost in each other's eyes. After all this time, and every kind of obstacle their lives must have seen, as, let's face it, life is not all rainbows, they still were so cast away in each other. It is a beautiful thing to see when love presents itself in such a manner. A defying war against the sands of time. As we age, the love grows stronger and deeper. True love sees no age limits, looks or money. Love is the time spent with one another bringing two hearts close enough to understand each other's heartbeat. To age with one another as we not only accept our flaws together but to believe that for once we are actually truly happy. From just sharing a cup of coffee and talking about one another's day to waking up Saturday mornings and watching cartoons together as we imagine the rest of our day. Any of these little things together can make relationships stronger. Make the love breathe. Yet as time has gone by love has as if vanished into thin air. Every other day we see people arguing, cheating and moreover causing each other so much pain. Pain from a loved one is what hurts the most. Some people do not contemplate themselves ever falling in love and it just so happens to walk into their lives. While some people who chase after love all their life do not get it till they are close to the very end.
Though love is an abstract concept. Sometimes you do not know you have it until you are sitting alongside a beach shore line, staring across the water crying for its loss. Live life and love those who you want to love. Let them know about your feelings and stop playing this stupid dating game. If you love someone be honest with them and spend time together. The faster you recognize who is truly meant for you the more time you shall have together. Do not waste life's precious moments scared. Spend them feeling loved.
