I’ve recently come back from studying abroad a semester in Ireland. One of the most significant differences I noticed in Ireland from the United States was the architecture there. The cathedrals and churches are all works of art and there are castles all over the place. You could look out the bus window, and there’d be a castle, you would be walking down the street and one of the buildings would be an old castle, a walk in the woods would surely bring you a castle. This was also true for the abundance of intricately designed churches. This architecture, for me, spoke of the rich culture and history of the land.
