Ned's Declassified Semester Survival Guide

Although “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” took place in middle school, some of the tips and lessons from the show still apply in college. Scroll down to check out some of your favorite quotes and moments from the iconic teen series.

“During the first day: just relax, be yourself and don't panic! Try to make new friends and get to know your teachers for the year.” Who else besides Ned Bibgy knew his teachers and student body like the back of his hand? He always showed kindness and compassion to everyone at James K. Polk Middle School, even his bullies.

“Stay away from really talkative people. You won't EVER be able to concentrate on ANYTHING!" We've all had to sit next to a Martin Qwerly. Someone who is so nice, but never stops talking for a second to let you concentrate. Although this is a great person to be friends with, this probably isn't the best person to sit by in class. It's totally fine to tell someone you want to sit alone to concentrate and take notes during class. Or you might end up looking like Coconut Head and be completely drained from class with a compulsive talker.

“If you're going to talk to your crush, don't make up lies about yourself.” Nobody wants to date a liar. And never be ashamed to share who you are. Remember how touched Moze was when she learned that Billy Loomer had a more sensitive side?

“Grades are important, but not the most important thing in life.” Sometimes it feels like pop quizzes, essays, tests and reports are the only things that matter. But failing a class doesn't reflect on the kind of person that you are, not matter what some professors tell you.

“Over-scheduled? Schedule some goof-off time.” No one can study all day long, it's beneficial to take breaks every once in a while. Even Cookie with his built in computer couldn't do absolutely everything. So deal with it, and relax sometimes.

“Everyone needs a best friend.” Or a group of three best friends. Long live Ned, Cookie and Moze.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
