With the holiday season in full swing, cuffing season is almost always soon to follow. For those who don't know, "cuffing season" is when the weather gets colder, the days become shorter and the thought of having a significant other becomes even more appealing, hence the term "cuffing." While this seems to be a popular subject on Twitter, it's important to remember that not having a significant other does not mean that your life is worth any less. We should not compare our own experiences to those of others, including idolizing the idea of being a relationship. Personally, I have spent a lot of time worrying about not being in a relationship, constantly asking myself why I have not yet experienced a great love in my life. I think this is a common theme amongst people my age.
It's important to remember that being in a relationship will not make you any happier, more beautiful or more successful. Having your own experiences and living your life without someone else is just as meaningful as experiencing it with someone you love. You can draw love and acceptance from the other relationships you have in your life. This can come from friendships, relationships with your siblings, parents and other family members. Remember you have your whole life ahead of you; it's full of opportunity and new experiences. Do not let the lack of a significant other become a negative aspect of your life. Instead, learn to love yourself unconditionally.
