It’s that time of year again; music festival season! While most of us are wishing we could go to the popular music festivals such as Ultra, Coachella, and the infamous Lollapalooza, little do we know that there are festivals going on right here in our own backyard. If you are a fan of music and love jamming outside to talented local bands in the summer sun, then here is the list you need to know. This list goes from June to September.
Nelsonville Music Festival: June 2nd- June 5th Nelsonville, OH
Nelsonvile Music festival, aka "the best music festival in the midwest." The bands set to play are Courtney Barnett, Michael Hurley, Gary Clark Jr., Fruit Bats, All Dogs, John Moreland, Nikki Lane, The Pines, Adam Torres, and many many more. The tickets can also be purchased online here.
Spirit Song Music Festival: June 23rd-June 25th King’s Island, OH.
This unique festival is scheduled to play at the King’s Island Amusement park in King’s Island, Ohio in the later part of June. Here are a few of the many bands that will be there: Counting Crowns, Jordan Feliz, For King and Country, Kari Jobe, and Stars Go Dim. Starwood Festival: July 7th-13th Pomeroy, OH
Even after 35 years, this festival is still bringing in local as well as international music artists, poetry readers, and drummers to their four stages. Party in the Park: July 15th-17th Painesville, OH

Miami Valley Music Festival: July 29th-30th Troy, OH
The Miami Valley Music festival; where charity rocks! This one of a kind music festival donates all proceeds to regional charities while celebrating life through music with people all over Ohio. Country Jam 2016: September 2nd- 3rd Thornville, OH
If you are a fan of cowboy boots and country music, you will love this festival! Country Jam is all about country artists, including Hank Williams Jr., Chris Stapleton, Chris Young, Justin Moore, the Charlie Daniels Band, and there are still more to be announced.
