It is no secret that as of recently fashion trends are not moving forward as much as they are delving into the recent past. I for one am living for the 90s looks that have resurfaced in the fashion world. I do think that it is important that we acknowledge the female pioneers who helped shape the looks that we love today. Many of the outfits we love came from television and movie stars of the 90s. Without further ado, here are my top three most iconic characters that were serving 90s looks long before us.

Fran Fine, The Nanny (1993-1995)

Fran Fine was undoubtedly a queen of 90s fashion. Fran was a fashion icon with looks like we could only dream of pulling off. As pictured above she knew how to rock both camo and a beret which are both looks we are seeing more and more of today. Fran did a great job of staying on trend while adding her own personal twist. If you are ever looking for fabulous outfit inspiration Googling Fran is a great first step. No wonder Mr. Sheffield couldn’t resist her!

Rachel Green, Friends (1994-2004)

I believe that Rachel Green is to thank for cute, but casual 90s looks. Rachel always looked put together, yet she never looked like she was trying too hard. She definitely went for simple over glam and that is what makes her outfits so cool even now. Often times she was seen wearing a laid back T-shirt with a skirt which is so girly, yet casual. Also, let us not forget her iconic “Girls” T-shirts with high waisted mom shorts. We will never be on a break from that look.

Cher Horowitz, Clueless (1995)

Cher’s style was a preppy take on 90s fashion. She and best friend Dion knew how to make plaid look ultra chic and wearable for every occasion. This fashionista also stunted in satin slip dresses that have been very popular this past year. Blazers, like the yellow one Cher is most famous for, are also becoming statement pieces in closets today. Like we would ever stop fantasizing about having Cher’s closet, as if.

I am in love with the 90s looks that are so trendy right now. I would like to give a huge thanks to characters like Fran, Rachel, and Cher for paving the way for my favorite OOTDs. Hopefully, those reading will find some great outfit inspiration, too. I look forward to trying out even more looks inspired by these fashion icons.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
