Odyssey Prompt: Thoughts You've Probably Had While Dating In America

No matter who you are (an introvert, person of color, member of the LGBTQ+ community, Scorpio, TikToker, you name it), we want to hear what dating in America is like for you and the thoughts you have while working through the talking stage, first dates, navigating love, working through dating problems, etc.

How To:

Here's where you come in! We want you to share these thoughts you have while dating in America in the form of a numbered list! This can be more serious, funny, or a mix of the two. To share your thoughts:

  1. Open a new post in Odyssey's CORE
  2. Create a new article using the headline structure: XX Thoughts You've Probably Had If You're A ___________ Dating In America
  3. Write a listicle that outlines all of the thoughts you have when dating in the U.S. that others can relate to
    • This list should be at least 10 points
    • This list should be preceded with an intro paragraph of at least two sentences
  4. Submit your finished article under Community: Relationships for a chance to be featured on Swoon

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
