These days there aren’t many celebrities that get through Hollywood without varying levels of scandal, drama and demolition of reputation. But then there are those few crowned jewels who escape that world unscathed. These are the classics, the legends. And Julie Andrews is one of these people. Here are the reasons why:

1. Was named a Dame by Britain's Queen Elizabeth II

Named a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II?? I feel like they just made up that title specifically for her. I honestly can’t think of anything more lady-like and noble. Queen Elizabeth II should just cut her losses and transfer the crown to Her Highness.

2. She’s 80 years old and still stunning.

Ageless. Simply ageless...

3. Underwent throat surgery and still sings beautifully.

I can’t imagine the devastation she felt when she was told she would never sing again, especially when her whole life has depended on her voice. But the lady’s still got it!

4. Princess Diaries.

If you’re a girl and a '90s kid, you grew up wanting to be Mia and needing Clarisse as your grandmother. Especially when she sang “Your Crowning Glory!” Just too perfect.

5. She has a rose named after her.

6. She has perfect pitch, a rare talent.

7. In 2002, she was voted the 59th greatest Briton ever in a BBC poll.

Seriously, how do you win these awards? I’m not even making this crap up.

8. She adopted two children from Vietnam with Blake Edwards, Amy Edwards (1974) and Joanna Edwards (1975).

Plenty of people adopt kids but she still earns even more respect for this.

9. Has written three books and they’re all about cute mom things.

“Thanks to You: Wisdom from Mother and Child” and “Home: A Memoir of My Early Years.”

10. She’s the definition of grace.

I don’t even need to prove anything here.

Truly, Julie Andrews is like a role model to me. She’s one of those people who inspires respect and awe. That’s what I dream of. I aim to carry myself with dignity, grace, and poise and such things as nobility and honor are very important to me. Julie Andrews is the perfect combination of strength and sass paired with nobility and beauty. Just simply magnificent. She rocks. She rules. She reigns.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
