Target, my dear sweet friend,

We have been through so much: sales, returns, and those pain-staking decisions where I always cave in to pay full price. And yet you always come through.

Clothes, shoes, home goods, furniture, and food...you really do have it all.

You never fail me. That beautiful shirt I saw two weeks ago, you marked down today. Your clothes sale rack could build me an entirely new wardrobe.

Your shoes- so affordable and so stylish- are every girl's dream. I can never leave without a pair. You anticipate the trends of the upcoming style season flawlessly.

Your home section brings out the inner interior designer I never knew I had inside myself. My heart longs for a never ending list of throw pillows. Somehow you manage to have one in every color and size I could imagine. I make plans for the house I don't even have and I fall for a new bed spread every time I walk down the aisle.

A furniture section to add to my future home fantasies. I always seem to find an adorable patterned chair and convince myself that I have the perfect place for it at home.

I can always count on you to Your clearance end caps make me smile. I always manage to talk myself into a candle or picture frame...I mean, it's a good deal, right?

You inspire me to organize everything and make me realize that there is truly no end to organization. Not only do you help me to become more organized, but I am organizing in style. Who knew a storage tote could be so cute?

You have been with me throughout my college experience. You help me to support my academic life with chic stationary and stylish writing utensils. Everything I have ever needed for my dorm rooms throughout the years, you have supplied.

My shopping sprees are fueled by an energizing iced coffee from the Starbucks that you conveniently placed in the store. When I'm hungry for a soft pretzel, buttery popcorn, or a classic coke slushie, you are there for me.

Your five percent REDcard discount makes my heart skip a beat. Your sales make it feel like Christmas.

But Target, you make Christmas everyday. I could not "Expect More" even if I tried and "Pay Less?" Well I don't mind if I do.

We have such a bright future together. I know you will be there for me to supply all the party favors, decorations, birthday cards, cleaning supplies, Halloween candy, gift cards, tech accessories, and pillows I will ever need. You will help me through the all the planning for future wedding showers, baby showers, new homes, and holidays that are to come.

Target, I will never get over you.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
