Now if you're reading this, I can almost guarantee and safely assume that you:
1. Live in South Buffalo.
2. Have lived in South Buffalo.
3. Know someone who lives in South Buffalo.
Living in South Buffalo for 20 years has truly been a treat. For every slice of Imperial I've had, every game of street hockey and time I've knocked a home run over the Green Monster at Morgan Park, I've been with people who have made me who I am. Long nights of getting chased out of the park by the cops with our six-packs, waiting for the text saying it was all clear to come back. Those nights at the park are slowly turning to nights at the bar, high school has become a job hunt and Imperial is still Imperial unless you're eating Mineo's or Leo's.
South Buffalo did have its problems though, everyone knew everyone, and if you didn't, you knew their relative, so you couldn't really "get away" with anything, but somehow, we still managed to get away with so much We're not West Seneca, we're not Hamburg, we're not any of the other suburbs; we're South Buffalo. We're Irish, we drink and we love out St. Patrick's Day parades (yes, there's two).
So rock on South Buffalo friends, and hey, only 25 days until St. Patrick's Day. (But we're not ones to wait, anyways.)
