I wrote this Poem to my wife just under twenty-four years ago, shortly after I proposed only two weeks after our first meeting. These words ring true more today as they did when I wrote them...
Ode to Fateful Love
When the fires of past ages sparkle in her eye;
Her spirit speaks with every sigh.
She spreads her wings while I sleep and hovers over me, adoring my sweet slumber.
She puts them away when I wake,
The purest human form she takes...
This is my Love...
This is my Friend...
This is the keeper of my soul; and to my soul only, will she forever tend,
And our Love will never end.
Skies form within her eyes, like she's off soothing distant cries from my soul in another time...another place...
A place where our hearts collided and established our dreams for the eternity to come...
I've traveled many roads to come to this place of the everlasting smiling face;
And through that time I've come so far, riding on my faithful star...
So here I've landed and here I've come, to lie beside the only one...
And as I sit with my cup so full; I dream for two...
Into the ethereal plane we hover, and into the spacious firmament...
Into eternity...
I'll Love her.
